Legend of the big smiling head
There once was a girl who had an exceptionally large brain, thus it was natural that she would need a large head to encapsulate all that grey matter. Along with her man-sized head (that’s right, she could not wear a girl sized hat, for she was no ordinary girl), she was born with the arms of a gibbon which made finding suitably sleeved clothing a real challenge.
Armed as she was with a big old brain, our girl spent an enormous amount of time reading books and partaking of the knowledge, insight and ideas of others. Her tastes were varied and wide ranging, covering many seemingly unrelated topics. Her conversations were peppered with useless (but interesting!) facts, and she always wanted to know more.
Along with her voracious appetite for information and ideas, she tended to be an exceptionally friendly and a generally happy person. She smiled allot. Between her large and engaging smile and big head, it was said she could block out a person’s view of the sun.
As the digital age progressed, she found fewer and fewer people who shared her thirst for the written word as captured in the portable physical realm. And yet, the friendly lass knew there were others with an interest in many of the topics she enjoyed and she thought they might be reached if she went into their world.
